The meeting with the Holy Father (Benedict XVI) took place on 9 September 2012 at Castel Gandolfo, in the presence of His Eminence Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, Secretary of State, and personal secretary to the Pope, Father Georg Genswein. The coat of arms of the house of Ratzinger was carved into fine wood (Pinos Cembra) and sumptuously finished with 24-carat pure gold leaf using procedures dating back to the Renaissance. Its dimensions are 90cm tall, 70cm wide and 16cm thick.
